Upgrade da Fuss/Soledad? a Debian/Etch?

Report dettagliato del tentativo di upgrade (dist-upgrade) di una installazione FUSS/Soledad a Debian/Etch?.

Situazione di partenza

Il computer è stato installato ex novo con i CD di installazione (Fuss Soledad 1.0 + CD Addons) senza particolari opzioni. Sono stati installati tutti i software scolastici.

È stato installato fuss-client (non avendo a disposizione un server con fuss-server installato, il pacchetto fuss-client non ha completato la configurazione).

Il computer è un portatile ASUS A2500D (CPU AMD Athlon(tm) XP-M 2600+, 256MB Ram, HD IDE 30GB)

L'installazione è fatta su una partizione unica (hda1) di 10GB con swap di 256MB

Il kernel installato è Linux soledad1 2.6.11fuss1.0-386

Preparazione

Per l'upgrade ho scelto di utilizzare apt-get da linea di comando, sostanzialmente per la comodità di poter redirigere l'output su file e avere così modo di avere traccia di tutti gli eventuali messaggi di errore. L'utilizzo di Synaptic non avrebbe comportato alcuna differenza.

/etc/apt/sources.list viene modificato aggiungendo le fonti per gli archivi di Debian/etch:
